HEALING THE ROOT CHAKRA


This red chakra also referred as Muladhara which is located at the bottom of the spine and represents the bodily function such as the pelvic region. This is one of the first chakra out of the seven. In Hinduism it is represented as a red lotus flower with four petals. It also symbolises connection with Earth. The colour red or pink is associated with this chakra. 

Body Parts

The body parts related to the Muladhara are the pelvic plexus, 3 vertebrae, large intestine, anus, legs and feet. 

Unbalanced Root chakra

One that maybe going through experiences such as trauma or any psychological events. Also worries about security and survival are a big cause of an unbalanced Root chakra. Yoga, tai-chi, meditation is good for removing stagnant energies stored within this part of the body. Emotional stress can also cause the energy to be trapped. 

Symptoms may include:

  1. feeling bloated
  2. depression or anxiety
  3. colon issues.
  4. bladder issues 
  5. lower back problems
  6. left arm, leg 
  7. pain and swelling of the feet
  8. inflammation.
  9. cramping.
  10. prostate issues
  11. ovaries and menstrual cycle

How to heal

To heal this chakra it is recommended to go for psychotherapy. 
Meditation is good to calm the mind. It is good to balance the other chakras too which I will explain in later articles. For now we are focusing on the Root chakra. Also to is important to heal this chakra by eliminating any stress related problems related to finance and trying hard to impress others. Make yourself a priority. Others can look after themselves. For now you are the life and soul of your body. Focus all your energy on you!

Do positive things throughout the day such as dancing, playing your favourite sport. Getting out in nature is especially good. Breath in the natural air and listen to your favourite music which is positive. Go out and interact with like-minded people that have a optimistic view on life and try to have a balanced laid back lifestyle. 

If you have a lot of responsibilities try and set a plan and ask for some help. The important thing to remember is be yourself! Learn to say no if you are being pressured into doing things you may not want to do.

-strawberries
-red tomatoes
-sweet red peppers
-red kidney beans
-cherries
-pomegranate
-cranberries
-raspberries
-beetroot

Also when you decide to meditate, imagine a white light travelling down your body and shining around your root chakra. This is a healing light which will help it to clear any unwanted energies and also help it heal. You can also use crystals and place it around your root chakra. Red crystals can also be used.
